The possibility of US interference in an armed conflict between Taiwan and China has diminished, as China has developed advanced anti-ship missile systems and submarine-launched cruise missiles that can target US aircraft carriers, he said.” Two weeks or three days! none of these Defense Ministers sound confident that their Taiwanese young men are willing to die for the cause of independence. In fact, my guess is when a war looms closer and closer, there will be cities and counties in Taiwan calling for voting of local referendums to declare non-militarization for their own districts. It will be messy, but not necessarily bloody!
