It says that wheelchairs is something we suffer, when in reality, it gives us freedom and independence, to say nothing of less pain. And, please don’t build your entire self-defense strategy around a gun. Obviously the first consideration would need to be if you can physically use one, but there are a multitude of factors involved that could be problematic – permits, logistics of how to physically carry it and be able to get to it, and the fact that very often when disabled persons are victimized, it is by people who are friends and loved ones. Do you plan to have a gun handy no matter who you are around? Please, if you are determined to get a gun, be smart about it. Get advice from an expert in your area – ideally someone who understands your physical capacity and the types of guns that might work for you.
