She also made it a point to bend over her desk as she reached for her assignment and happened to voice an “oh” to garnish attention. There were no boys in this particular class. And only the front half of the 46 desks in the classroom were filled. I knew this was coming because she was the the head of the “Mr Evans fan club” (there were 8 members, all girls). Not a week earlier she said she “wanted to hug me so bad” out loud to her friends thinking I didn’t understand a word of Japanese (because we Foreigners were not allowed to let on we understood, forcing students to communicate in English). I was in the middle of scoring the previous student’s presentation, and only caught the behavior in my peripheral vision. I think people should have the freedom to wear what they want, but this, in school, at that age, in school? I can’t say it enough, in school? It’s incredibly inappropriate. ALL the male teachers were stressed out by this common fashion style, but it was against the school’s “individuality and freedom of expression” policy for any of us to complain openly. And only 12th grader girls did this. I have to admit, it at least happened not on an ordinary day, but rather on Halloween. So it was his costume, and I find it awesome.
